Living History Volunteers

Bringing Texas military history to life through authentic reenactment and education.

The Texas Military Forces Museum and Texas Military Forces Historical Foundation are honored to tell the story of the Texas Military Forces through an immersive living history program. The Museum's Living History Detachment is a dedicated group of professional and amateur historians that examine and educate the public on the sacrifice and service of the men and women who have served. We do this through research, militaria collecting and living history programs that include interactive presentations, static displays and encampment presentations, as well as battle re-enactments.

Our Living History Detachment has represented the Story of the Texas Soldier across the United States and are well respected for their authenticity and commitment to honoring our soldiers and their sacrifice. The Living History Detachment represents Texas soldiers from the Texas Revolution, Civil War (Federal and Confederate), Spanish-American War, Punitive Expedition, World War I, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining our Living History Detachment, contact Jeff Hunt, commander of the Texas Military Forces Living History Detachment and director of the Texas Military Forces Museum at txmilmuseum@gmail.com or by calling (512)-782-5659.
